We recently stayed at the Thornwald Mansion, and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the Carlisle area. Rkia and Tom Hall, who are the owners and Innkeepers, did a great job with communication to ensure everything was ready for our arrival. They are super friendly and obviously take great pride in welcoming guests to the mansion. They met us right at the front door, gave us a nice tour of the mansion, and made great recommendations for dinner. The room was huge and well decorated; we loved the restored clawfoot tub. Breakfasts were very tasty! All in all, a great visit to the Thornwald Mansion. We look forward to visiting again soon.

One of the finest B&B's in the state with luxurious guestrooms! My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay and had one of our best nights of sleep. We slept so soundly we almost missed breakfast! Haha. The bed was super soft and the bathroom was one of the most spacious we have ever seen. The owner was very hospitable and the breakfast was absolutely delicious! We can't say enough about how wonderful our stay was and look forward to coming again soon.
My husband and I stayed here the weekend of the Chrysler nationals in Carlisle. Yes it was a last minute reservation (cause that’s the way we are) and yes, it was our first Bed and Breakfast experience- so we had reservations; no pun intended. Bottom line- you should stay here if you like something outside the ordinary, historical surroundings, and personal attention. Not to mention homemade pastries for breakfast! Rhkia and Tom have done wonders with the mansion. Our suite was comfortable and beautiful. Close to town also! Carlisle is a cool little town. Bottom line- step outside the box and stay here. My wife and I absolutely loved our stay here. This will be our go to place when we come back for our Carlisle car events. The food was amazing along with the conversation during our meal. I would also like to add the fact that I felt very happy knowing our vehicle was secure behind the gates on the ground.
Wonderful grand mansion with outstanding accommodations and service. We felt right at home with the owners and atmosphere. Highly recommended and we’ll be booking more visits whenever we’re in the Carlisle area.
I was absolutely delighted with my stay at this incredible, unique property! First-rate care by the lovely owner and hostess...wooded walking trails...lovely historic Carlisle a short walk away. Not to be missed!
Ok first of all I can not say enough about our hosts Rkia and Thomas . They both were incredible. The greeting when we arrived was nothing you have experienced before. Now the mansion itself is absolutely gorgeous. We stayed in the Michael Angelo room on the second floor. Our room was incredible from the original hardwood floors to the most comfortable bed we have been in. The attention to detail is incredible. Don't forget about the robes they had for us. Know lets talk about the homemade breakfast. Rkia prepared for us a delicious egg, quiche, turkey bacon, fruit, coffee, hot tea and the most amazing croissant. We had our breakfast in a beautiful downstairs dining room. We stayed 2 days and visited downtown area and local restaurants so close. This was our best experience in a bed and breakfast in the states to date. We can not wait to stay again. Thank you Rkia and Thomas for a wonderful stay. The Mackeys Lisa and Robert
